FOCUS FUNDS
The Music for Hope Fund aims to bring music to conflict-torn and under-resourced regions of the world to generate hope, break down isolation, and promote healing and well-being among children and youths. The Fund seeks to assist local organisations and artists in conducting music workshops and special projects in schools, community centres, hospitals and refugee camps. Benefiting underprivileged, traumatised and/or ill children and youths, including street children and former child soldiers, supported projects would, for instance, heal trauma incurred through war and conflict; raise awareness of risks associated with HIV/Aids and other illnesses; or address gender and social inequalities. The Fund aims to advance projects on the ground; assist relevant local organisations to build their effectiveness in the long-term; and raise awareness of critical issues locally and internationally.
Young Music Ambassadors Fund
The Young Music Ambassadors Fund supports the exchange of outstanding young musicians representing diverse musical genres and cultures from around the world. It provides them with travel scholarships and stipends to come together to give concerts and participate in discussions. In stimulating global artistic and intellectual encounters, these meetings foster leadership that is not only rooted in active intercultural dialogue but which is based on an understanding of the social responsibility of artists in promoting social change and human rights and the role of music in conflict-prevention and peace-building efforts.
